Isn’t that just the greatest theme?!    This is the name of CTMH’s latest paper suite, and as you’ll see below, it’s beautiful itself.

On the subject of beautiful friendships, I want to tell you a little story about my bff and I.  I hope that you’re not as hopeless as us with photos!

I met my bff (Fiona) at intermediate school, we were about 11 years old!  She was the most popular girl in school, super beautiful inside and out, incredibly talented, amazingly smart – like totally, the whole package.  I still to this day do not know how we became friends – because I was the socially awkward, tomboy sporty chic who didn’t have a line of girls wanting to be my friend!  But somehow, Fiona and I became best friends, and I still to this day, consider and call her my best friend.  Our lives have taken quite different paths, and although we don’t get to see each other that often these days, we do still catch up in person at least a couple of times a year.   We have been friends for 30 + years!!  Sometimes I think she knows more about me than I know about me – her memory is better than mine.  She is the girl I know I can call on at any time of day or night, and she will be there for me unconditionally.  To just know you have a friend like that is such a blessing.

About 5 years ago, I was putting together an album of the things and people that were most important to me, and realised that apart from a few photos together from our early years, we hadn’t had photos taken of us together for YEARS.  There was like a 20 year dearth of photos.  I was SO upset, but as you know, you can’t turn back time and re-take photos.   How sad is that, this girl & friendship that is so important to me, and yet – no physical record of it.    We’ve taken photos of our kids together, even our dogs, but we never thought to turn the camera around and take photos of us.  What a pathetic scrapbooker I am!!

Don’t be like me!  Do you have photos of the friends in your life that are important to you?  If not, start now.  Next time you’re catching up with a friend, ask someone to take a photo, or do the selfie thing.  What ever it takes, take the time to capture your friendships.

And why not use this beautiful paper suite to record, preserve and celebrate those friendships?

I like to call my style ‘simple yet stunning’.  Which maybe a little presumptuous – I know it’s simple, but I hope it’s also stunning in its simplicity.

Here’s the layout I created, as above, but this time with the photos etc on it.

  1. Beautiful layout and a lovely story Megan, a timely reminder to all to remember take photos when we get together with family and friends. What a cute little card with the teabag.

    1. Thanks Doris, we can never underestimate the value of capturing moments with our loved ones.

  2. Your story is so true for all of us. The people we love the most often never appear in a photo with us. I had the same experience with a group of high school friends. Now, whenever we meet I make sure there are photos.

  3. Thank you for sharing your story, Megan! A great reminder to take some photos and document the stories.
Great page layout and I love your little card!
