Here for the Memories – September SOTM blog hop
Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. We will be featuring September’s SOTM, which is Here for the Memories, a set of 12 stamps, that is just perfect for celebrating your love of scrapbooking.
If you have come here from Wendy Kessler’s blog, you’re on the right path. The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog
This month we have over 20 Close To My Heart Consultants from around the world sharing their creations using this month’s SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. Participating yourself is simple to do. Just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one. It’s a continual loop of inspiration. Let’s go.
Last weekend, I was supposed to be enjoying an annual reTREAT with a beautiful bunch of ladies. With all that’s going on in the world, it was an even more anticipated weekend than usual. But then sadly, covid crept back into our community, and Auckland went back into lockdown. Thankfully our retreat weekend has been re-scheduled, so although we’re all upset right now, we still have something to look forward to.
I had created this page to give as a gift to everyone attending. Here for the Memories could not be more apt, or come at a better time to highlight a scrapbooking retreat weekend.
We always take a group photo, and of course, I take a few photos of everyone enjoying themselves over the weekend. So – these photos are not from this year’s retreat. I’ve used a couple developed from previous years, to give you an idea of what a finished page will look like. I had three of the photos printed as ‘polaroids’ as I felt that the extra white space at the bottom of each one was perfect for journaling. And, as shown, to use some of the appropriate sentiments from the Here for the Memories stamp set.
Products used:
The Retreat title was ‘written’ on my cricut.
The cute as ‘swirly’ border was created with last months’ SOTM (Floral Celebration). Isn’t it funny that sometimes the simplest little stamp in a set becomes your favourite and most used? That’s how I feel about the swirly border.
For a little added depth, I stamped the ‘say cheese’ image using black pigment ink, and then embossed it with clear embossing powder.
Because the ‘polaroids’ were actual photos, I stamped on these using StazOn ink – it works best on this type of surface, and doesn’t bleed or run.
It’s a very simple page, but will quickly and effectively capture our weekend (in November), and is perfectly enhanced with this months’ SOTM – surely a must for every scrapbooker.
Now “Hop” on over to Michelle Loncar’s Blog to see her work. Be sure to visit all the consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas. Remember, the September SOTM is only available until the 30th of the month. Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount.
I hope you too are able to document the people and times you get to scrapbook together, and that joy it brings you.
