Hey Handsome! A paper suite for the boys in your life.

Hey Handsome is a fabulous new paper suite from Close To My Heart, that you can use to celebrate the boys / men in your life. And us boy Mums are always asking for more of this right?!

It’ll come as no surprise that I was pretty excited when it arrived, and started creating with it straight away. Today I’m sharing some great ways of using it, alongside some other down under crafters, as this post is part of the Hey Handsome Australasian Close To My Heart blog hop. If you’ve already joined the hop, you’ll have arrived here from Danni at Scrappy Chicks. But if you’ve just popped on, join in the inspiration by following the link at the end of the post.

There are so many awesome elements to the Hey Handsome range – scrapbooking paper, kits, stamp sets, cards etc.

I immediately fell in love with the two workshop kits. These don’t always work for me, but this time I could see how the exclusive items in both the cardmaking and scrapbooking workshop kits were things I didn’t want to miss out on.

Scrapbooking with Hey Handsome

Let’s start with the Hey Handsome Scrapbooking Workshop Kit. Here’s what you get, along with the layouts that you can create with it if you follow the enclosed guide.

Images of the Hey Handsome workshop kit and layouts

With the first layout, I’ve created it pretty much as it was prescribed. I haven’t quite finished it – I have a flip flap going on one of the 4×3 photos on the right, where my journaling will also go. But you get the idea. As you may gather, this is from one of my boy’s graduations, which was last year.

The second layout I again copied, but I did decide to mount it all onto black cardstock. I felt it needed that depth of frame. I’ll add on all the extra embellishments and titles etc, once I have photos on it. (I don’t like to add them on when I create the page, as they may not suit the photos I choose.

This third layout I modified significantly.

Keep an eye on my Insta or FB page to see the finished versions with photos.

Cardmaking with Hey Handsome

Next up let me share the Hey Handsome cardmaking kit. This kit includes a stamp set, thin cuts, papers and embellishments. I loved the images that include thin cuts (dies), so wanted this to be part of my ‘forever’ stash, as I know I’ll get great use out of them. Alongside the great designs, there is a fab sanding technique taught.

I did create all of the four card designs as prescribed in the kit, but I then modified a couple to suit my style better.

To show you just how the idea of using the card kit to create a scrapbook layout, I have one to share! This is a layout modified off an original design by a very clever team mate, Paula at Craft with Paula.

All of this, and I haven’t even yet started on anything with the stamp set Hey Handsome Scrapbooking Stamp and Thin Cuts, which I ADORE!

So – there will be lots more coming with Hey Handsome. Stay tuned on my FB and Insta page for more ideas.

  1. A fabulous load of ideas Megan. I resisted the card making kit at first, but have since succumbed. Like you, I enjoyed seeing the more masculine projects available with this range.
