I Heart Us – Australasian Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to the ‘I Heart Us’ CTMH Australasian Blog Hop.

Here you’ll find lots to inspire you to create simple scrapbook layouts and cards, using the bright and cheery I Heart Us paper suite.

If you’ve arrived here from Creating with Kara, then you’re in the right spot. But if you just happened upon us, please enjoy the ongoing inspiration by following the link at the end of this page.

As you’ll see from some of the product range below – it’s just a beautiful range. It’s bright without being primary – very ‘cheery’!

It has totally inspired me to create, and I have a couple of my creations to share with you today.

A simple scrapbooking layout

The first is a simple scrapbooking layout.

A simple scrapbooking layout

This memory is of a road trip I took with one of my boys a few weeks ago. We were only away for 2 nights, so it was a short trip, but extremely memorable, due to all of the stunning countryside we traversed.

Some of the details that you may not be able to see easily are;

  • the photo on the left is framed using a stitched thin cut frame (my new LOVE!) You’ll see these on lots of my layouts moving forward 🙂 It adds subtle texture, and as someone not able to sew, it’s as close as I’ll ever get to that look!
  • I’ve dry brushed a soft blue (Carolina) under the ‘Beautiful’ title
  • The rest of the title pieces are daubed in Canary (hard to see in the photo I know, but it’s really beautiful in reality)

Because I so love this range, this is not all I’ve created using it. Last week I shared another layout created using some of the I Heart Us range – you can view that here.

Cards

Then I moved on to cards!

You may pick up here that I am a little addicted to the ‘stitched dies’. One of my favourite products is CTMH’s Decorative Border thin cuts. I’ve been working my way through them in my card classes, showing uses for each of them. This month it was the turn of the funny fringed one.

Decorative Border thin cuts

If it wasn’t for the help of some clever sharing sister consultants, I would never have known what this was for. This makes the coolest fringed tassels. These look beautiful as a decoration on presents, but today I’ve used it on my card.

Spot the tassels at the top of the card. These have been made using the thin cut above. How cool is that? I’ve hung them so they’re free to move, so it really adds an extra dimension. The stampset used is the I Heart Us Cardmaking one, coloured using watercolour pencils. The final bling on the card is the ever so pretty I Heart Us sequins.

I really also love the stampset used. That font is to die for (no pun intended), and it’s just a nice sentiment. When you look at it, do you know instantly who you’d give it to if you created it?

So there you go! A little inspiration. I hope something you’ve seen inspires you to create/ ‘case’!

If it does, I’d love it if you could either give me a ‘like’ below, or even better, leave a comment.

All of these products are available from your local CTMH consultant. If you don’t have one, and are in NZ, you can shop for these HERE.

Now it’s time to continue the inspiration, and pop on over to Nell at Nellie Bligh
