Message in a Bottle – April 2022 SOTM Australasian Blog Hop
Welcome to our Message in a Bottle SOTM blog hop, where we’re featuring ideas using this super cute stamp set. If you have come here from Scissors Paper Heart, you’re on the right path! The blog hop is a circle, so you can start here and work your way around all of the inspiration.
Have you seen this SOTM yet?

How cute is it? Gosh, just the other day there was a story on the news of someone finding a ‘message in a bottle’ that had literally travelled across the world. They read the message / story, then added their own story, re-sealed it and sent it on its way. How cool is that?!! Doesn’t it inspire you to give it a go?
Anyway, enough on that tangent.
As soon as I saw the stamp set, I knew there was an opportunity for liquid glass to shine! It doesn’t have glass in its name for no reason!!
Here’s a very simple card I created using one of the bottle from this SOTM, and the Daisies For You stamp set, which is a super special one. It is actually a Maker only stamp, but it’s one I give my Reward Club members the opportunity of gaining as a reward. (If you’re a kiwi, and like more $ for your crafting spend, ask me more!!)

Of course, you could recreate this look with another type of flower.
To help create the look of the vase, I first stamped in Intense Black Ink (so it would be colour fast), then coloured it in lightly using a blue watercolour pencil, and my handy dandy waterbrush. Once dry, I then ‘coloured’ the entire vase with a good coating of liquid glass, and left it to dry.
Because the flower is so simple, and the glass vase is a stand out, I wanted to give the daisy a little more oomph, while still maintaining its integrity as a white daisy. So I grabbed my bottle of white liquid pearls, and gave each petal a little soft feature. It’s probably not noticeable in the photo, but the little hint of white shimmer is just beautiful in real life.
So – there’s my wee touch of SOTM inspo for you. For more, it’s time to pop on over and see what clever idea Danii at Scrappy Chicks has created.
If you’re not familiar with CTMH’s SOTM (Stamp of the Month) programme – here’s how it works. Every month, CTMH create a fabulous D sized stamp set, that’s only available for that month (hence its name). As per any D size stamp set, it’s $37.50 to purchase. BUT, if you spend $88 or more in a single order, you can purchase it for just $10.
But wait, there’s more! If you’re a CTMH VIP member, and spend $88 in a single order in any given month, you get the SOTM for FREE!! How awesome is that?!!
Now, before you head away, I’d love it if you’d leave a comment below.
Happy crafting,

I love the simplicity of your card Megan, yet it is so pretty.
Why thank you 🙂
Such a pretty card – this daisy is a favourite of mine too.
Who would have thought to use Cake Day papers in wedding photos with such a fabulous result.
